Kirsten and Scott are two of those disgusting high school sweethearts that just ooze love and affection. I’d love for you to meet them! So I sat down and asked them a bunch of questions about creating their wedding, the whys, the hows, the whats, and thought you’d love it as a blog post. So enjoy! And stick around to the bottom of the post so you can watch their wedding film!
The creative team: Pictures by Heart and Colour Photography. Video by Lemon Tree Film House. Venue is Osteria, Casuarina. Styling is by Sunshine and Confetti. Blooms by Elyssium. Kirsten was driven by Blissful Dubs. Sarah Head entertained everyone with her sweet sounds on guitar.
I loved everything about Scott and Kirsten’s day, including the fact that they wanted to see each other before the ceremony, for a first look. I can guarantee you that 100% of the couples that see each other before the ceremony, are 200% calmer and cooler in their wedding ceremony.
And that’s a verified Josh fact!
In creating your wedding, what did you have in mind and how did you find the people to create it?
When we decided to get married the first thing we agreed on was that we wanted our wedding to just be a relaxed celebration with our closest friends and family. We wanted an outdoor garden wedding at a venue that allowed us to have both reception & ceremony in the same place, which would save our guests having to change locations halfway through. We picked you as our celebrant first (pretty much as soon as we got engaged – before we even had a venue locked in) and then from there we followed your social media accounts for other wedding vendors you had either worked with or people you knew had worked with that we loved.
Why did you choose me as your celebrant?
We first saw you on Sunrise talking about the “different” weddings you had been a part of and from that moment we knew you would make our wedding the way we wanted it, and not how it should be. We thought you were exciting, funny, entertaining and unique and that you would make our wedding personal to us/our style.
What did I bring to your wedding and wedding planning that was pretty awesome?
You brought a light-heartedness feel and comedy so that we felt relaxed & comfortable throughout the ceremony. You also helped us immensely in the lead up to the wedding when we met up for breakfast a couple of days prior. We told you what we were both scared of and you reassured us it would be perfect, and you were absolutely right. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
How would you describe your wedding ceremony?
Firstly and most importantly, our ceremony was relaxed & reflected us to a tee. And secondly you managed to make it to be more of a celebration than a formal event, which also made us feel more relaxed as well.
