Award-winning Tasmanian wedding celebrant Josh Withers
Hi! I'm Josh Withers!
From Stanley's Nut to Flinder's Island, Launceston through the Tamar Valley, Burnie, to Devenport, I create awesome weddings! I am a male millenial marriage celebrant ready to create a fun wedding ceremony for you!
For weddings and elopements within about two hours drive of Melbourne CBD, any travel expenses covered
Intimate ceremony
The best wedding ceremony ever
Ceremony and MC the reception
A pairing almost as perfect as the two of you
I believe your ceremony should be the highlight of your wedding day. I put in the effort to ensure it’s personal, heartfelt, fun, and a meaningful moment you’ll cherish forever.
Your walk down the aisle and the moment you say 'I do' should feel completely natural. With me as your celebrant, it’ll be as easy as enjoying a stroll through City Park on a crisp Launceston morning.
I work closely with your photographers and videographers to ensure the ceremony is beautifully captured, so the recorded memories match the magic you experienced in person.
I offer four main packages, with the most popular being where I’m both your celebrant and MC for the reception. You can also book me just as a celebrant for weddings, elopements, or a registry-style legal ceremony.
We’ll need to meet at least once to complete the legal paperwork before the wedding, but I’m available to meet as often as you need—either face-to-face or online—to ensure everything runs smoothly.
To get married in Tasmania, you must be 18 or older, not currently married, not closely related, and entering the marriage willingly. Proof of your date and place of birth, along with evidence of any previous marriages ending, is required.
Australian law requires at least one month’s notice before you can marry. Most couples book their celebrant 9 to 18 months in advance, so planning early ensures you secure the right person for your day.
Anyone can get married in Tasmania, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or citizenship, as long as they meet the legal requirements and are 18 or older.
Launceston and northern Tasmania are known for their cooler climate, so it’s always wise to bring a jacket. If you’re planning to marry outdoors, like at Cataract Gorge or the Tamar Valley vineyards, comfortable shoes are a must.
Nestled near the picturesque Dial Range, Mount Gnomon Farm offers a rustic yet elegant setting, surrounded by lush paddocks and stunning Tasmanian landscapes. Perfect for a country-style wedding with charm.
This expansive property near Boat Harbour Beach offers a stunning mix of rolling hills, forest, and luxury accommodation, making it a top choice for couples seeking a private and scenic venue.
Located in Bothwell, Ratho Farm combines history and beauty with its heritage-listed homestead, manicured grounds, and scenic views. Ideal for couples looking for a unique, classic Tasmanian wedding experience.
Conveniently located in Launceston, the Tailrace Centre offers stunning riverside views and modern facilities, making it an excellent choice for a contemporary wedding with a scenic backdrop.
Located just outside of Launceston, Tranquility Estate offers a stunning garden venue with serene surrounds, perfect for an intimate or large-scale wedding.
Overlooking the Tamar River, Waterton Hall is a historic gem that combines breathtaking views, a vineyard backdrop, and heritage charm for an unforgettable wedding setting.
This UNESCO World Heritage-listed site offers a magical and historic setting, with charming gardens and rustic barns, ideal for couples seeking timeless elegance.
A short drive from Launceston, Quamby Estate is a stunning historic venue with manicured gardens, elegant interiors, and panoramic countryside views—a perfect Tasmanian wedding destination.
"Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true, thanks in large part to our incredible wedding celebrant, Josh Withers. From the moment we met him, we knew we had found someone truly special to officiate our ceremony. Josh's warm and friendly personality instantly put us at ease, and his genuine passion for what he does was evident in every interaction."

"Josh was an amazing celebrant! Calm, relaxed and genuine. It is evident in his work that he has years in the wedding industry - professional and experienced. Josh managed our family friendly ceremony with ease making the ceremony both intimate and fun. I particularly liked that he didn’t pretend to know us or to tell our story - he left that for us to do in our vows."

"We both feel that Josh delivered what he said he would promise. The ceremony was our favourite part and your words of encouragement, philosophy on gathering and marriage were exactly what we hoped for. You included our wishes of community and acknowledgment of family and friends seamlessly. Also, thank you for the reception. It took such a load off our mind knowing that the vendors could communicate with you (instead of us) which allowed us to enjoy the moment."
