Deux Belettes
A romantic French-style chateau in the Byron Bay hinterland, surrounded by fig trees, stone walls, and elegance — a dream venue for refined, intimate weddings.
Just a short trip from Byron Bay, the perfect wedding venue and luxury accommodation is Deux Belettes. Tucked away in the Byron hinterland, surrounded by tropical fruit plantations, fertile organic farms and a rainforest of primeval fig trees, this French-inspired chateau is a venue like no other, and so close to the Gold Coast and Byron Bay.
Known affectionately as “The French House,” Deux Belettes offers a quiet kind of magic — pebble paths winding through rambling roses, ceremony locations shaded by ancient trees, and receptions under the stars in elegant marquees. It’s romantic, refined, and wildly photogenic.
Couples don’t just choose Deux Belettes because it’s beautiful — they choose it because it feels different. Exclusive. Intentional. Personal. And if you want that kind of day, it’s worth every bit of planning to make it yours.
My Experience Here
I’ve performed countless weddings and elopements at Deux Belettes — including some a-list household names. Each one has felt different, yet the venue always delivers a kind of quiet grandeur. There’s a timelessness here that elevates the smallest elopement and brings elegance to even the most relaxed gathering.

Planning Tips
- Hire a planner: This venue is breathtaking, but it also has detailed requirements. It’s absolutely worth working with a professional planner (preferably one who knows the owners and layout well) to make the most of the space and meet expectations.
- Outdoor ceremonies only: All ceremonies take place outside, so have a backup plan in case of wet weather. Marquees are the standard reception setup.
- Best time of year: Spring and autumn offer lush gardens and more comfortable temperatures. Summer can be humid with potential rain.
- Sunset light: Magical in the late afternoon as it filters through the trees and hits the stone buildings — perfect for post-ceremony portraits.
- Travel logistics: The property is about 35–40 minutes from Byron Bay. You’ll want to organise guest transport (especially return buses) since rideshare options are limited.
- Parking: Limited onsite — plan for supplier vehicles and use guest shuttles or valet services.
- Curfew & noise: As a private estate, noise and timing restrictions apply. A planner can help you work within those limits.
- Accommodation: The on-site guest house is beautifully furnished and best reserved for the couple or immediate wedding party.
- Vendor team: The owners maintain a list of preferred 5-star planners and stylists who can assemble a dream team of caterers, florists, musicians, hair/makeup artists, and even luxury transport or horse and carriage options.
