Award-winning wedding celebrant Josh Withers
Hi! I'm Josh Withers!
From the laneways to the highways, Melbourne through the Yarra Valley, Geelong, to the Surf Coast, I create awesome weddings! I am a male millenial marriage celebrant ready to create a fun wedding ceremony for you!
For weddings and elopements within about two hours drive of Melbourne CBD, any travel expenses covered
Intimate ceremony
The best wedding ceremony ever
Ceremony and MC the reception
A pairing almost as perfect as the two of you
I believe your ceremony should be the absolute highlight of your wedding day. I put in the time and care to make it personal, heartfelt, fun, and memorable for everyone involved.
Your walk down the aisle and the moment you say 'I do' should feel completely natural. Forget the stress and awkwardness people warn you about—when I’m your celebrant, it’ll feel as easy as a stroll along the Yarra.
I collaborate with your photographers and videographers to ensure the ceremony is captured perfectly, so the recorded moments reflect how magical it felt in person.
I offer four main packages, and the most popular is the combo where I’m both your celebrant and MC for the reception. You can also book me just as a celebrant for weddings, elopements, or registry-style ceremonies.
We’ll need to meet at least once to sort out the legal paperwork before the wedding, but I’m happy to meet as often as you need—either face-to-face or online—to make sure everything feels seamless.
To get married in Victoria, you must be 18 or older, not currently married, not closely related, and entering the marriage willingly. You’ll need proof of your date and place of birth and evidence of any previous marriages ending.
Australian law requires at least one month’s notice before you can marry. Most couples book their celebrant 9 to 18 months in advance, so securing the right one early is always a good idea.
Anyone can get married in Victoria, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or citizenship, as long as they meet the legal requirements and are 18 or older.
Melbourne is known for its four seasons in one day, so always have a jacket handy. And if you’re eloping along the Surf Coast or in the Yarra Valley, consider practical shoes for the terrain.

"Josh was incredible! In every possible way. The day flowed because of him, there was so much worry taken off of our shoulders and he was always there through whatever needed. On top of that, his professionalism and person ability throughout the day with all guests was amazing. The only celebrant I would recommend"

"We were lucky enough to have Josh marry us in Tuscany in June 2024. Josh, you are an incredible wordsmith, are passionate and genuinely love what you do. You felt like an old friend, creating a relaxed and comfortable environment that we will forever be grateful for. We couldn’t think of anyone better to marry us & can’t recommend Josh enough to creating a magical day."
