Is this actually free? Will my QR code expire?
Yes, it’s free. No account, trial, watermark, subscription or scan limit. These are static QR codes: the information is in the image itself, so I cannot switch them off. A linked website still needs to stay online, and changing a link or Wi-Fi password means making a new code.
What happens to the details I enter?
Your QR code is made entirely in your browser. I don’t receive or save your links, messages, contact details or Wi-Fi passwords. This generator page has no analytics or advertising trackers, and it doesn’t save your inputs to browser storage. The website host still handles normal page requests; the contents of your QR code aren’t sent with them. A website guests open after scanning has its own privacy policy.
Anyone with the QR image can read what’s in it, including Wi-Fi passwords. Share a guest network, and only include details you’re happy for your guests to have.
How do I make sure it scans beautifully?
Use a dark colour on a light, plain background and keep the clear space around the code. Start at about 3 cm wide for a simple printed code, and go larger for longer messages or signs viewed from a distance. Always scan the final design with a couple of phones before printing the whole batch. Icons and detailed codes need particular care.
PNG, SVG, white or transparent?
PNG is ready for most invitations, websites and social posts. SVG stays sharp at any print size. White gives your code a reliable clean background. Transparent removes all the white, including behind the icon: place it on a light, solid colour and keep that clear border. The chequerboard preview is not part of the download.
Can I save this on my iPhone?
Yes. Download a PNG, or use Share image to save it through your phone’s share sheet when available. Copy image needs a compatible browser and permission; if it isn’t available, download works instead.
Does it create an RSVP form, photo album or registry?
It makes the code that opens your existing link. Create your form, album or registry with your chosen service, then paste its sharing link here. Check the link works for guests who aren’t signed in. Email, SMS, Wi-Fi, contact and calendar actions depend on the scanning app and phone; test the action as well as the image.
