Frogmore Creek is a standout wedding venue in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley — offering the kind of setting that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Just 20 minutes from Hobart’s city centre (and even closer to the airport), this vineyard estate delivers all the elegance and wow-factor of a destination wedding, without the travel stress.

Think rolling vines, water views, and a relaxed but refined vibe — the kind of place where you can sip spectacular wine, dine on Tasmania’s best produce, and let the kids run wild on the lawn while you say your vows.

My Experience Here

Frogmore Creek is more than just a Tassie wedding venue to me — it’s a family favourite. Britt and I often bring friends here for long lunches, while Luna runs on the grass and tells anyone listening that her daddy does weddings here. The staff are always warm, the food and wine are next-level, and the view across the vineyard? Unreal.

I’m proud to be a locally preferred celebrant for Frogmore Creek weddings.

Venue Highlights

  • Amphitheatre-style ceremony location with panoramic vineyard and valley views
  • Barrel Room reception space with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening to nature
  • Expansive outdoor terrace perfect for mingling and sunset drinks
  • Incredible food and wine all made from Tasmanian produce and estate-grown fruit
  • Friendly, professional team that makes every event feel effortless
  • Easy access from Hobart CBD and Hobart Airport

Planning Tips

  • Weather: While summer and early autumn offer stunning light and colours, Tasmania’s weather can be unpredictable — the Frogmore Creek wet weather backup is their hall which is a specatacular Plan A let alone a Plan B.
  • Sunset: The golden hour across the vineyard is magical — ideal for ceremony timing or sunset portraits.
  • Travel: Just 20 minutes from Hobart and 10 minutes from the airport — ideal for out-of-towners and local guests alike.
  • Parking & Access: There’s plenty of on-site parking and the venue is wheelchair accessible. For destination weddings to Tasmania it’s common to hire a bus to pick everyone up from their accomodation.
  • Accommodation: There’s no accommodation on-site, but nearby options in Cambridge or Richmond work beautifully or Hobart CBD is only 20 minutes away.
  • Best Season: November to April is peak for vineyard weddings, with long daylight hours and vibrant scenery. The only thing with a Tasmanian summer is the late sunset so talk to your photographer/videographer about timing for golden hour.

Most people don’t know this, but I was the celebrant on the very first season of Married at First Sight on Channel Nine. I said yes to reality TV — once — and it turned out to be one of the strangest, most valuable lessons of my celebrant career.
