The Old Dairy Maleny

A pristine, purpose-built wedding venue in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with sweeping views, space to celebrate, and A+ hospitality.

Australia, Southeast Queensland
621 Landsborough Maleny Rd, Maleny QLD 4552
hinterland luxury barn

The Old Dairy Maleny is what happens when someone dreams up the perfect Sunshine Coast hinterland venue—and then actually builds it. Elevated above rolling hills and lush rainforest, it offers wide-open views, spacious ceremony and reception areas, and the kind of layout that’s been designed with real weddings in mind and a joy for this Brisbane Celebrant. It’s not just beautiful. It’s intentional, immaculate, and a pleasure to work at.

If you’re planning a big wedding and want a venue that feels clean, expansive, and exceptionally well looked after, this is the one. There’s space to breathe, space to celebrate, and views you’ll be talking about for years.

My Experience Here

I was genuinely taken aback the first time I officiated a wedding here. It’s so beautiful—honestly breathtaking—and so well run. In a region filled with charming venues, this one stands out as the cleanest, most polished, and best maintained. I’ve seen them all, and The Old Dairy is in a league of its own.

Venue Highlights

  • Exclusive-use venue with space for up to 90 guests
  • Purpose-built ceremony site with panoramic hinterland views
  • Reception barn with timber finishes, warm lighting, and plenty of room to move
  • The Bell Tower: perfect for intimate ceremonies or elopements
  • Bath House with Finnish sauna and spa—ideal for pre- or post-wedding wind-downs
  • Open lawns, firepit area, and outdoor pizza oven for relaxed vibes
  • Onsite team that runs things beautifully without getting in the way

Planning Tips

  • Best for big weddings: The layout is perfect for larger celebrations—there’s room to host comfortably without ever feeling cramped.
  • Cleanest venue around: No exaggeration—this is the best maintained venue in the region. If that matters to you (and it should), you’ll love it.
  • Sunset: You’ll get stunning light across the ridge late in the day—ceremony timing around 3:30–4:00pm usually hits the mark.
  • Weather: Hinterland weather can shift quickly—while most days are perfect, always have a wet-weather plan. Thankfully, the reception barn transitions easily.
  • Access: Located just outside Maleny, it’s easy to reach and well signposted. There’s ample onsite parking, but many couples still organise guest transport.
  • Vibe: Upscale but not uptight. You can have a luxurious celebration without it feeling forced or too formal.

What Are Weddings For?

What Are Weddings For?

White dresses, bouquets, bridesmaids and champagne. Fatherly speeches, and I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston. Confetti, corsages, long tables of food. These are a few of my favourite things people think weddings are about.
